Este evento, patrocinado por el Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR) y el Gobierno suizo, tuvo como objetivo reunir a representantes de agencias gubernamentales, empresas privadas, personas refugiadas y la sociedad civil para compartir experiencias y conocimientos sobre el apoyo a este colectivo y definir medidas dirigidas a abordar un fen\u00f3meno global que est\u00e1 en expansi\u00f3n. En el foro participaron varios representantes de la SGI, organizaci\u00f3n comprometida activamente con la consecuci\u00f3n de tales objetivos. El 14 de diciembre se ley\u00f3 una declaraci\u00f3n interreligiosa sobre el apoyo a los refugiados firmada por la SGI y otros diecinueve grupos religiosos. Con anterioridad, la Soka Gakkai hab\u00eda presentado al ACNUR dos compromisos que se est\u00e1n implementando o planificando. El primero es ampliar la asistencia a personas refugiadas mediante la sensibilizaci\u00f3n de la sociedad en Jap\u00f3n.
